Not-a-calendar

Graphic Design  Concept Illustration

The topic of my Bachelor's thesis was "The Valuation of Time in a Capitalistic Society." With time at the core of my focus, I decided to employ a calendar as a medium for discussing this concept.

The calendar I designed comprises various modules and is accompanied by a manual that provides instructions on how to utilize the product effectively.

For each month, I selected a distinct topic to concentrate on, such as social media addiction, consumptionism, priorities, boredom, workaholism, and others. Within the calendar, I included a question, a quote, an illustration, or a task for users to engage with, allowing them to interact with the calendar and contemplate the given topic.

My intention is that after a year of reflection, completing the exercises and tasks, users will discover ways to enhance their daily lives by modifying certain habits. Additionally, I hope they will become more receptive to perceiving time from a slightly different perspective.

Example • August is a perfect summertime to simply enjoy doing nothing. I suggest here taking time for it in your calendar. Let yourself do nothing, get bored and see where it brings you!
